To join our team, we are looking for a Shipper-Receiver that is organised and focused on the details. The ideal applicant will be in charge of overseeing the receiving and delivery of items, making sure that all paperwork is accurate, and keeping effective inventory control procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Accept arriving shipments, check items for damage or inconsistencies, and compare contents with purchase orders or packing slips.
  • Assemble and package shipments that are being shipped, making sure that all paperwork is in order and that all shipping laws are followed.
  • Utilise pallet jacks, forklifts, and other tools to load and unload vehicles and store items in the warehouse or other storage facility according to their allocated places.
  • Reconcile inconsistencies, update inventory systems or databases, and conduct routine cycle counts to ensure correct inventory records.
  • Work together with vendors, shippers, or messengers to arrange deliveries, pick ups, or shipping-related problems.
  • To guarantee that orders and shipments are processed on time, arrange and rank shipping and receiving tasks according to urgency.
  • In the shipping and receiving area, abide by safety procedures and keep the workspace tidy.
  • Help with additional warehousing duties, including inventory restocking, order picking, or performing occasional physical inventory counts.

Requirements:

  • A high school degree or its equivalent is required; further training or certification in logistics or a similar discipline is advantageous.
  • Solid background working as a shipper-receiver or in a related capacity, ideally in a distribution centre or warehouse.
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems, shipping software, and fundamental computer abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational abilities, and capacity for multitasking in a hectic setting.
  • It is preferred if you have experience operating material handling equipment and have a forklift certification.
  • Familiarity with shipping laws, paperwork, and safety protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to work well with internal teams, carriers, and suppliers.
